Governance and Security Stakeholders Convene in Kismayo to Strengthen Regional Collaboration

The Governance and Security Stakeholders Engagement organized by Somalia’s Presidential Envoy for Stabilization brought together key leaders and security officials in Kismayo to foster greater collaboration for enhanced governance and security in the region.

The meeting, which included commanders from the Darwiish Forces and the Somali National Army’s (SNA) 43rd Division, as well as representatives from the Jubaland Intelligence and Security Agency, aimed at improving coordination among the security agencies and governance structures in Jubaland.

The engagement was part of the Somali government’s ongoing efforts to stabilize the region, which has faced security challenges due to militant activities, particularly from the Al-Shabaab group. The discussions centered around enhancing joint operations, intelligence sharing, and strengthening local governance to ensure sustained peace and development in the region.

The Presidential Envoy for Stabilization underscored the importance of collaboration between security forces and local governance, stating that the success of governance efforts in Jubaland depends on a unified approach to addressing both security and developmental challenges.

He said the aim of this engagement is to ensure that the security forces, intelligence agencies, and governance bodies work hand in hand to create a safer and more prosperous Jubaland.

Participants expressed their commitment to working together to tackle insecurity, enhance stability, and build the foundations for long-term governance and development in the region.
