Mogadishu is preparing to welcome Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, who is expected to arrive in the Somali capital tomorrow, according to sources close to his visit.
A high-level advance delegation from Addis Ababa has already arrived in Banaadir region ahead of his trip.
Preparations are underway in Somalia’s capital,Mogadishu to receive Prime Minister Abiy, with arrangements made for his meeting with Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud.
Reports indicate that the visit follows through on a commitment Abiy previously made to travel to Somalia.
This trip comes after President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud visited Addis Ababa twice since December 2024, during which both leaders formally agreed to strengthen bilateral relations.
During Abiy’s visit to Mogadishu, the two leaders are expected to sign additional agreements, while technical committees from both nations continue discussions on key areas of cooperation.
