Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Badr Abdelatty, reiterated that his government stands firmly with Somalia’s unity, cohesion, and stability. He also condemned anyone who seeks to cause harm or disruption to Somalia.
Dr. Abdelatty stressed that it is an obligation to respect Somalia’s social unity and territorial integrity as a Federal Republic, adding that Egypt continues to voice its support for these principles.
“ We stand with the Unity, Cohesion, and Stability of the federal Government of Somalia. We will not accept anything that brings harm, disorder or disunity,” Dr. Badr Abdelatty said.
He further stated that Egypt is not concerned that Ethiopia through conflict and disputes related to the use of the Nile might secure access to the Red Sea. He noted that such matters belong to the countries involved.
Egypt has previously been among the nations that opposed Ethiopia’s interference, particularly after developments that began in 2024, as well as Israel’s reported recognition of the northwestern authority at the end of 2025.
