Demonstrations against the killing of MP Juweria Subcis took place in Jigjiga following the shooting of the Lawmaker by Ethiopian federal police officer killing her at Jigjiga Airport yesterday when he opened fire.
An agitated crowd gathered at the house of the late parliamentarian, demanding justice.
The police chief of the Somali Regional state of Ethiopia said that it is not yet known why the officer opened fire on the deceased and injuring five others but an investigation is underway.
He added that the soldier of the Federal Forces of Ethiopia guarding the airport in Jigjiga city, who opened fire and killed the MP was arrested.
