The Banadir Regional Administration has issued a stern warning, declaring that individuals repeatedly caught dumping garbage on the streets of Mogadishu will face consequences. Addressing the media in Yaqshid District, Mohamed Suudi, the Director General of Sanitation & Restoration for the Banadir Regional Government, emphasized the need for accountability, extending the warning even to cleaning companies.
Suudi outlined two critical challenges stemming from street littering: security concerns due to potential explosive materials being discarded, and adverse impacts on community health. He cautioned that those caught dumping garbage might face more significant issues than the act itself, potentially leading to arrest for involvement in activities against peace.
Highlighting the urgency of the matter, Suudi stressed the responsibility of each individual in maintaining a clean environment. Additionally, the aftermath of capital flooding has left some roads covered in mud, prompting calls from motorists to address the issue for improved traffic conditions.
