Arrest of local leader sparks unrest in Jalalaqsi

According to close confidant reports an altercation stemming from the arrest of a peace ambassador and famous local leader in Jalalaqsi has significantly impacted security and administrative activities in the district.

Reports indicate that armed groups attempted to forcibly release the detained leader, escalating tensions in the area.

According to various close confidant sources to Mustaqbal, residents spent the night in fear as sporadic gunfire erupted near the location where the leader was held, a situation that spurred unrest among the local population.

As of now, there are no confirmed reports of casualties resulting from the conflict. However, community elders have mobilized to prevent further escalation of violence in Jalalaqsi, located in the Hiiraan region.

Authorities from the Jalalaqsi administration have not released any statements regarding the leader’s arrest, leaving residents and observers awaiting clarification on the reasons behind his detention, the gunfire, and any potential casualties.
