The Governor of Banadir Region who doubles to be the Mayor of Mogadishu,Hassan Mohamed Hussein (Muungaab)has made a strong commitment to ensuring that by the year 2026, the capital will not be burdened with damaged roads.
During the inauguration of the renovated Nasib Road in the Shibis district, he reassured the public about ambitious plans to enhance the city’s infrastructure.
Muungaab emphasized the responsibility of the local government in maintaining and improving road conditions, as well as addressing sanitation issues.
He called upon the citizens to actively participate and contribute toward these efforts for a cleaner and safer environment. Engaging the community in these initiatives is crucial for success.
Highlighting the collaboration with construction companies, the mayor mentioned that these firms would take responsibility for any issues arising during the refurbishment projects.
The Mayor has also stressed the importance of local cooperation in overcoming any challenges faced in the renovation process. This teamwork is essential for achieving substantial improvements in the city.
“Our goal for 2026 is to ensure that Mogadishu does not have crumbling roads or barren pathways,” Muungaab declared.
“In the new year of 2026, Mogadishu will not have damaged roads or barren pathways according to our plans. Our goal is to have a well-constructed and secure Mogadishu with strong economic infrastructure, where everything is complete, if God wills,” said the Governor of Banaadir Region and Mayor of Mogadishu.
The mayor imagined a city that is not only rebuilt but also secure, with sound economic infrastructure, promising a well-furnished environment for its residents.
The mayor revealed plans for additional road constructions that will include the Soddonka, Warshadaha, and the Jamhuuriya roads in the Karaan district.
These developments are said to be aimed at transforming the capital into a modern hub, underlining the ongoing commitment to infrastructure advancement in Mogadishu.
