SODMA Donates food Items To Displaced Families in Barawe District

The Somali National Disaster Management Agency (SODMA) has yesterday distributed food aid to 750 families in Barawe district of the Lower Shabelle region.

The families that received the aid included displaced persons, disable people and poor people. The distribution of the aid was witnessed by various top officials including the director of the SoDMA aid department, Sahra Ali Yusuf, the governor of Barawe district, Omar Sheikh Abdi, his deputy in security Ismail Abdullahi Jaadane and other top officials.

The beneficiaries expressed gratitude and thanked President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud ,Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre and SODMA officials for the prompt response for the distribution of food items that were of high need.

The National Disaster Management Agency indicated it will continue its commitment to providing aid to vulnerable people within the community with plans underway to dispatch additional assistance to the needy people and swiftly respond to emergencies.

The distribution of the aid by the National Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA) has come at a time when it has been conducting aid trips to assess the country’s regions for the last few days.
