Somalia pledges unity with Arab States on Jerusalem and the protection of Palestinians

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Federal Government of Somalia, Abdisalam Abdi Ali, was hosted by His Majesty King Abdullah Bin Al Hussein of Jordan, in the presence of Arab foreign ministers.

The meeting took place within the framework of the Arab Ministerial Committee bringing together regional leaders to discuss shared priorities and ongoing efforts to strengthen cooperation among Arab states.

Somalia used the opportunity to reaffirm its strong commitment to coordinated Arab action, emphasizing unity and continued diplomatic engagement on key regional issues.

Particular focus was placed on Jerusalem, with Somalia reiterating its position supporting the city’s sanctity and the rights of the Palestinian people.

The Minister also stressed Somalia’s support for the protection of Palestinian rights, calling for sustained collective efforts to uphold justice and advance a meaningful political resolution in line with international legitimacy.
