Recently I read an ‘opinion’ piece titled “World Bank implicated in Somalia corruption scandal” published by Horseed Media.
A critical reading of the piece will show that it is deficient of all the objectivity. It is just a hallow vile of attack with no substance, unsubstantiated personnel attack.
No one was quoted let alone hearing from both sides.
At no point did even the alleged ‘victim’ speak of his purported ouster.
The piece is whipping clan emotions and wailing to what’s just a perception and an imaginary narrative.
The writer appears to have misunderstood the entitlement of opinion to mean anything regardless. Objective journalism is factual reporting.
The prejudices that is definitely reflected in the opinion story is an irrestable one.
No media worth its name publishes viles that’s wrapped as Opinion.
To put things into perspective, the alleged corruption level at the current regime is one that the only manifestations being having inherited a corrupt regime, that whenever the government fights it, clan politics plays a major stage that even anyone ousted on alleged corruption scandal will play the card and whip emotions.
When president Mohamud was elected on May 2022, his first assignment was to repair the damage caused by months of political chaos and infighting.
The same was manifested both at the executive level and between the central government and state authorities which clearly there was a break down of system due to the friction and unprecedented fallout between the federal government and the the regional governments.
The same was quickly solved thanks to President Hassan’s reconciliatory, diplomatic approach and sense of reason.

Gutteres echoed the fact that the President was able to launch a new process of stabilisation and development in the country and to build up its capacities to fight Al-Shabaab with even more efficiency than in the recent past.
Clearly, President Hassan’s regime has restored a semblance of governance, security and working relationship between the institutions particularly the federal government and state administration.
As they say, corruption fights back, the many viles, “CBB” and tantrums directed at his administration by lazy pseudo professionals and some taking it to publish without verifying it just depicts how some media in Somalia have loselt sense of responsibility.
The corruption scence depicted is purely a drama and fictious tale akin to behavior of the notorious American journalist, Janet Cooke, who won Pulitzer prize in 1980 for a story about drugs which later turned out to be fictional and just a mere fiction. It was just a dramatic fake scene.
This story is playing the critic role in a fake way. It is a Honourable thing to criticize government objectively but when you wish fame in critism and your project is a fictious tale!
The whole scene depicted is a creation which everyone knows is meant to discredit the already positive strides of the new administration.
The orphans of the past regime, that were hallowing in corrupt debs can’t take an iota of accountability.
The whole story is a mere creation with the sole character being the writer with no backing, interview, quote or the other side. It is a trash.
