Turkish Ambassador to Somalia Ferhat Alkan has visited the Port of Mogadishu, where he met with the TP-OTC team providing logistical support to the Çağrı Bey Sea Drilling Ship, which is involved in oil exploration activities in Somalia.
During the visit, Ambassador Alkan received a briefing from the TP-OTC team on ongoing operations and research related to the exploration of Somalia’s oil resources.
Türkiye said it is closely monitoring the oil exploration activities being carried out through cooperation between Somalia and Türkiye.
The Çağrı Bey ship is currently operating off the coast of Galmudug State, while the TP-OTC team is providing logistical and technical support for the exploration project.
Ambassador Alkan also thanked Turkish and Somali personnel involved in supporting the joint oil exploration project between the two countries.
Türkiye has continued to support Somalia through cooperation in security, development, infrastructure, humanitarian assistance and economic sectors, strengthening the longstanding partnership between the two countries.
