Reports from Las Anod in the Sool region indicate that the planned summit for discussing the establishment of the SSC Khaatumo administration has been postponed.
In recent hours, the city has witnessed various meetings involving officials from both the regional government and federal leaders, as well as cultural leaders.
One of these meetings was held by the leader of SSC-Khaatumo, Abdikadir Ahmed Aw-Cali, alongside the SSC-Khaatumo Council of Elders.
The focus of this meeting was on finalizing the SSC-Khaatumo regional government and ensuring the smooth progress of all activities related to the conference. This initiative aims to solidify governance in the region and address local needs.
Additionally, the Somali Minister of Internal Affairs, Ali Yuusuf Xoosh, who is currently in Las Anod , met with community representatives from SSC Khaatumo to discuss the upcoming summit and its significance for the region.
However, some cultural leaders have reportedly expressed opposition to the preparations for the conference, citing a lack of consultations.
The federal government has previously announced its commitment to supporting efforts to establish a government for the SSC Khaatumo areas, emphasizing the importance of stakeholder engagement in the process.
