Mogadishu, Somalia – Somalia’s Upper House Speaker, Abdi Hashi Abdullahi, warmly welcomed Türkiye’s new Ambassador, Alper Aktaş, in a meeting that underscored the deepening of fraternal ties between the two nations. The discussions focused on bolstering the bilateral relationship and enhancing cooperation across various sectors.
During the meeting, Speaker Abdi Hashi Abdullahi expressed heartfelt gratitude for Türkiye’s unwavering support and numerous development initiatives in Somalia. He acknowledged the significant contributions Türkiye has made in areas such as infrastructure, education, and humanitarian aid, which have greatly benefited the Somali people.
“Türkiye has been a steadfast ally and friend to Somalia, providing invaluable assistance and support in our journey towards stability and development,” Speaker Abdi Hashi Abdullahi remarked. “We are eager to strengthen our collaboration and explore new avenues for mutual growth and prosperity.”
Ambassador Alper Aktaş reaffirmed Türkiye’s commitment to supporting Somalia’s development and stability. He highlighted the importance of maintaining strong diplomatic relations and emphasized Türkiye’s readiness to assist Somalia in achieving its developmental goals.
“Our relationship with Somalia is built on a foundation of mutual respect and brotherhood,” Ambassador Aktaş stated. “We look forward to continuing our support and working together to create a brighter future for both our nations.”
The meeting concluded with both leaders expressing optimism about the future of Somalia-Türkiye relations. They pledged to work closely to enhance cooperation in various fields, including economic development, security, education, and healthcare.
