Somalia’s Parliament Speaker holds talks with Arab Parliament, Australian counterparts

Speaker of Somalia’s House of the People, Abdulkadir Mohamed Nur, held separate meetings with the President of the Arab Parliament, Mohamed Ahmed Al-Yamahi, and the Speaker of Australia’s House of Representatives, Milton Dick, in Arusha.

The discussions focused on “strengthening parliamentary cooperation, exchanging legislative experience and expertise, and enhancing parliamentary diplomacy between Somalia and its international and regional counterparts” .

The meetings provided an opportunity to discuss ways of deepening cooperation between legislative institutions and promoting the exchange of knowledge and best practices in parliamentary affairs.

The engagements form part of Somalia’s efforts to strengthen parliamentary diplomacy and expand cooperation with regional and international legislative bodies.
