Somalia’s Chief of Defence Forces Inspects Troops in Galmudug State.

Somalia’s Chief of Defence Forces, Major General Odawa Yusuf Rageh, conducted an inspection of military forward operating bases near the El-Dher district in Galmudug State on Tuesday. The visit aimed to assess the troops’ welfare and evaluate their combat readiness as the Somali National Armed Forces (SNAF) intensify operations against terrorist groups in the region.

During his tour, Major General Odawa commended the soldiers for their courage and commitment to safeguarding Somalia’s sovereignty. He lauded their determination in the ongoing military campaigns aimed at liberating the remaining areas under terrorist control.

“You are the backbone of our nation’s security and stability. Your bravery and sacrifices are what enable Somalia to reclaim its territory and provide safety for its citizens,” said Major General Odawa during his address to the troops.

The Chief of Defence Forces also reviewed logistical support and operational preparedness, emphasizing the importance of maintaining high morale among the troops.

The Somali National Army, backed by international partners, has made significant strides in recent months, liberating key territories and disrupting terrorist networks across various regions. The inspection, he said, was part of the military’s commitment to ensuring the welfare of its forces while advancing strategic operations for national security.

Efforts to enhance collaboration between federal and regional forces were also highlighted as part of the broader mission to stabilize Galmudug and other regions in Somalia.
