Somalia’s Auditor General praises warm INTOSAI CBC welcome, highlights accountability gains

The Office of the Auditor General of the Federal Government of Somalia has welcomed its inclusion as a new member of the INTOSAI Capacity Building Committee (CBC).

In a statement from the Office, the Auditor General expressed appreciation to the CBC for its confidence and warmly welcoming his membership, noting that this strengthens the role of the Auditor General’s Office in Somalia.

“We express our sincere appreciation to the INTOSAI Capacity Building Committee (CBC) for the confidence placed in us, and for the warm welcome extended to my membership. This engagement strengthens the role of the Auditor General’s Office in Somalia and supports our commitment to enhance oversight, accountability, and capacity.”He said

The Auditor General of the Federal Republic of Somalia further extended congratulations to his counterpart in Norway, who has taken over leadership of the INTO SAINT program an initiative that supports Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) in assessing their effectiveness, integrity, and the risks that may affect their work.

The Auditor General emphasized the importance of collaboration with other offices and partners connected to Somalia, as well as joining new international initiatives and participating in global meetings, so as to expand experience and strengthen capacity.
