The Federal Government of Somalia has officially welcomed the decision announced by U.S. President Donald Trump to lift economic sanctions previously imposed on Syria.
In a press release issued by Somalia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the government described the move as “a positive step towards reconciliation and peace-building in the region.” The statement emphasized that such actions support broader regional efforts aimed at restoring stability and harmony in the Arab world.
The ministry further urged Syria and other Arab nations to foster unity and cooperation, noting that solidarity is essential in achieving lasting peace and sustainable development.
Somalia reaffirmed its commitment to always work in the spirit of brotherhood, cooperation, and mutual respect for the sovereignty of all member states of the Arab League.
