The President of Somalia’s Puntland State, Said Abdullahi Deni, has inaugurated a significant development project in the Waciye district today, Tuesday.
During his visit, President Deni laid the foundation stone for a new orphanage center, a facility aimed at supporting vulnerable children in the region.
The leader indicated that the initiative underscores the Puntland administration’s commitment to enhancing social welfare services and addressing the needs of underserved communities.
In addition to the orphanage project, President Deni inspected the recently completed Waciye Technical School. The state-of-the-art facility is expected to provide vocational training and skill development opportunities for youth in the area, equipping them with tools to secure sustainable livelihoods and contribute to local economic growth.
President Deni said the new development steps reflect the Puntland government’s broader strategy to invest in education and social infrastructure, ensuring inclusive development across the region.
Local leaders and community members expressed their gratitude for the government’s efforts to improve the quality of life in Waciye and beyond.
