The First Vice President of the Jubbaland State of Somalia, Mohamud Sayid Adan, who addressed a meeting with the Prime Minister’s Election Reporting Committee on the situation in Gedo region, welcomed the good work of the committee.
Mohamud Sayid Adan said the chairman of the commission, who is the election adviser to Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble, has experience in electoral matters as part of the implementation of the 2016/17 elections.
Jubbaland 1st Vice President Mohamud Sayid Adan indicated that as a State, they are ready to hand over information related to the Garbaharey Election to overcome the obstacles to the 16-seat elections.
Influential parties in Gedo region, which represents Jubbaland, said Mohamud Sayid Adan was ready to participate in the efforts of the Committee represented by the Prime Minister.
“Chairman Omar, we are aware that the Prime Minister has been in charge of electoral consultations since he ran the 2016 election successfully and has experience in this regard. We welcome the Commission’s efforts to hold the 16-seat election,” said Mohamud. Sayid Adan.
“The issue of Gedo region is not a difficult one if politicized It is a problem that will continue as it has taken two years. We have overcome the obstacles that prevent us from holding elections in Gedo and how we see a solution that can be overcome,” he added. 1st Vice President of DG Jubbaland.
