Somalia: Mir Taqwa Hospital in Middle Shabelle Region Re-equiped, primary health services to resume

The Hir-Shabelle Regional Government has re-equipped the Mir Taqwa Hospital which has been providing essential medical services to the residents living in several areas of the Middle Shabelle Region.

This hospital equipment was provided by the businessmen from that area who decided to hand over it to the Hir-Shabelle Regional Government to deliver it to the Mir Taqwa Hospital where the residents are awaiting primary healthcare services.

Officials of the Hir-Shabelle Regional Government said that the hospital equipment that were previously in the hospital were taken by ‘AS’ fighters but after a long effort, the Regional Government managed to supply other materials to the community and requip to provide health services to the community.

The areas have been under the control of the Federal Forces for a year, the local organised forces Macawisley and the Dervishes of the Hir-Shabelle Regional Government has liberated the areas in a joint efforts and the restoration of community services has started in the areas.

This medical equipment was provided by people from the area for the re-equpiment of Mir Taqwa Hospital as the community needs to get primary health services that are important for their health care.

The Governor Mir Taqwa, the Minister of Finance of the Hir-Shabelle Regional Government and other officials were present at the event where the medical supplies were handed over and the services of the hospital resumed in the coming days.

Primary health services is an important step in the journey towards achieving good health care and the government is doing all efforts to provide basic necessities in the areas liberated from AS fighters.
