Today, Mahad Mohamed Salad is set to officially assume the position of Director of the National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) in a handover ceremony at the agency’s headquarters in Habar Khadiijo.
This transition is said to mark a significant change in leadership for the agency responsible for national security and intelligence operations in Somalia.
The handover will be conducted by the outgoing director, Abdullahi Mohamed Ali alias (Sanbaloolshe), who has recently returned to Mogadishu to oversee the transition. This event is crucial not only for NISA but also for the broader security landscape of the country.
The ceremony is expected to be attended by high-ranking government officials, military leaders, and heads of security agencies.
Their presence is said to underscores the importance of this leadership change and the collaborative efforts needed to address the security challenges facing Somalia.
This transition comes after the Council of Ministers appointed Mahad Mohamed Salad to the role of NISA Director once again, emphasizing the government’s confidence in his leadership abilities. His previous experience in intelligence and security is said to make him a fitting choice for this vital position.
As Mahad takes on this new role, many will be watching closely to see how he plans to navigate the ongoing security issues in the region. His leadership will be crucial in shaping the future of Somalia’s security apparatus.
