Somalia hosts Ugandan delegation to strengthen bilateral cooperation

Somalia’s Ambassador to Uganda, H.E. Fardowso Mohamed Kanyare, has welcomed a Ugandan government and business delegation to Mogadishu ahead of the Somalia–Uganda Joint Permanent Commission scheduled for October 21–22.

The commission is expected to review existing agreements between the two countries and identify new opportunities to strengthen bilateral cooperation.

The two-day meeting will bring together government officials and business representatives to discuss ways of deepening diplomatic and economic relations between Somalia and Uganda.

The talks are also expected to provide an opportunity to assess progress on previous commitments and explore areas where both countries can expand their partnership.

The participation of business representatives highlights the importance of economic cooperation, particularly in identifying potential investment opportunities and strengthening commercial ties.

Somalia and Uganda maintain relations in several areas of mutual interest, including regional security and diplomatic cooperation.

The meeting is expected to help chart the next phase of cooperation, with both countries seeking to build on existing agreements and establish a stronger framework for future collaboration.
