Reports from the Mudug region indicate that the Somali National Army, in cooperation with the organised local forces known as Macawisley launched a multi-directional attack on Al-Shabaab fighters in the region.
The troops have targeted key bases of Alshabab fighters in the outskirts of Harardhere town in the south of Mudug region according to close confidant sources.
Reports adds that the two sides have clashed
in the areas of Barag-Hurdaye and Miroon, where a face-to-face battle happened and no official reports from either side.
Local residents also indicated that heavy bombings were heard parallel with the operations in the outskirts of Harardhere district in Mudug region.
It is not clear until now the official casualties resulting from the attack by the allied forces and the subsequent clash and the situation in the area is now very tense according to reports.
Somali military officials leading the operations said that the operations will be continuous their and their major aim is to liberate Al-Shabaab fighters from the area.
In the Central Regions, there is still heavy operations going on against the Al-Shabaab fighters, and a large area has been liberated from the group which is now ruled by Galmudug.
