Somalia: ATMIS and Gov’t forces stationed in Barawe step up joint patrols to clear AS fighters from the area

National Armed Forces and ATMIS troops stationed in Barawe town conducted joint patrols to deter and eliminate terrorists in the area and clear improvised explosive devices

The forces indicated that the joint patrols would provide both proactive and reactive responses to activities threatening peace and security in the areas ensuring peace and stability.

The forces Treiterated that teamwork would be critical in ensuring Barawe district remains stable and safe to allow residents to continue with their normal lives.

Troops from the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS)and the Somali Security Forces have stepped up the joint patrols in the Barawe district in South West State to clear Al-Shabaab fighters from the area and ensure the area is free from improvised explosive devices.
