The National Communication Authorities of Somalia and Turkey have reached an agreement to collaborate in the field of electronic communication, expertise sharing, and strengthening the internet infrastructure, as stated in a joint press release from the two organizations.
Mustafa Yasin Sheikh, the General Director of Somalia’s National Communication Authority, signed the agreement and expressed gratitude to his Turkish counterpart, Ömer Abdullah Karagözoğlu, for facilitating this partnership.
The agreement was formalized at the Turkish National Communication Authority (BTK) headquarters in Ankara. It emphasizes coordination in satellite communication, cybersecurity, internet infrastructure management, and other areas.
Ömer Abdullah Karagözoğlu, Chairman of the Information and Communication Technologies Authority of Turkey, praised the efforts of Somalia’s National Communication Authority.
“Through this collaboration, we will enhance knowledge exchange and system management expertise to advance the communication sectors for the long-term benefit of both Türkiye and Somalia.”He said
Mustafa Yaasiin also highlighted the significance of this agreement in strengthening the bilateral cooperation between the two agencies, HIQ and BTK, and empowering workforce development.
Somalia’s National Communication Authority has been leading significant changes, aligning with countries making progress in these areas. It has participated in international conferences to present opportunities and ongoing changes within the country.
