The Auditor General of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Ahmed Gutale, has opened a four-day workshop focused on strengthening anti-corruption strategies, in collaboration with Egypt’s Accountability State Authority.
The workshop brings together senior officials from Somalia’s Office of the Auditor General, the Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs, the Office of the Attorney General, and the Ministry of Finance to discuss measures aimed at improving transparency, accountability, and institutional capacity.
Speaking during the opening ceremony, Egypt’s Ambassador to Somalia, Mohamed Salah Hassan Keshtah, emphasized the importance of technical cooperation, sharing professional expertise, and strengthening relations between the Supreme Audit Institutions of Somalia and Egypt.
Participants are expected to explore key issues including the impact of corruption, principles of good governance, international and regional anti-corruption frameworks, development of effective anti-corruption strategies, and strengthening national legal and institutional mechanisms.
The workshop is part of ongoing technical cooperation between Somalia’s Office of the Auditor General and Egypt’s Accountability State Authority, with the objective of enhancing professional skills, exchanging knowledge, and supporting efforts to promote accountability and integrity in public institutions.
