Somali Businessmen says entry to Kenya increasingly become restrictive.

There is confusion over the challenges that many people are unable to enter Kenya while others have to wait a long time to continue their journey due to applying for a visa in that country.

The reason why it is difficult to enter Kenya is said to have not been revealed yet but different interpretations have been given on the reasons that are believed to have caused this issue which has affected hundreds of people.

Some of the businessmen of the offices working with the airlines have said that they are going to strike for the Kenya Airways staff and this has resulted in a decrease in the number of people entering the country.

Osman Hussein Ali, one of the businessmen working to facilitate entry into Kenya, said that the planes flying from Nairobi carry fewer people from Mogadishu than they used to carry before.

He pointed out that they are feeling burdened because the movement has decreased, the passport holder who has not been able to get a Kenyan entry visa (VISA) is not easy to apply for a ticket.

“When traffic stops, we feel burdened because when a person does not have a visa, he can’t apply for a ticket. The biggest loss is felt by the airlines, so far there is nothing clear but it is blamed on the new changes that happened in Kenya” Osman Hussein Ali.

The Embassy of Somalia in Kenya has started an effort to find a solution to enter the country in order to find the citizens it represents who are interested in going to that country but the lack of visa is a key challenge.
