Sadiq Omar Hassan a lias Sadaq John former Benadir Regional Police Commander has been elected as the 11th Member of the House of the People of the Federal Parliament, following a recent election that happened in Dhusamareb.
Sadiq Joon has won the HOP248 seat, and the former Benadir Regional Police Commander contested against Abdullahi Hirsi Dirshe.
100 delegates cast their votes in the ballots in the election, with Sadiq Omar Hassan receiving 81 votes, while his competitor Abdullahi Hirsi received 17 votes, and 2 votes got spoilt, according to the Galmudug Electoral Commission.
A delegation from the Federal Electoral Commission and the Galmudug State Electoral Commission were present at the Dhusamareb elections, in which Sadaq Joon became a Member of Parliament.
Elections for other seats in the 11th House of the People of the Federal Parliament are still underway in Dhusamareb, and four seats will be up for grabs on Thursday with the first seat already finalized.
