Ridwan Hirsi: Rooble is dragging progress to the path towards elections.

Ridwan Hirsi Mohamed, a member of the Council of the presidential candidates who spoke to the BBC has criticised interim Prime Minister of the Government of Somalia Mohamed Hussein Rooble accusing him of dragging the progress towards the dialogue slated on May 20, 2021 to deliberate issues of elections in Somalia together with Federal authorities, State and Banadir region.

Hirsi pointed out that it is barely three days to the talk and that there is a lack of mobilization from the leaders who signed the September 17, 2020 agreement as the basis for the road to parliamentary and presidential elections.

“We want the talks not to go beyond May 20th, but I am concerned about the slow pace of the Prime Minister on the issue. I believe that he is dragging it slowly then as required. He went on trips twice abroad despite what awaits him . ”Ridwan Hirsi Mohamed said.

On May 1, 2021, Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo whose mandate ended said before the National Assembly that the power of elections & security issues was handed over to Somalia interim Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Rooble.

The interim Prime Minister of the Government of Somalia, who returned to Mogadishu on Sunday, said the talk on the election agenda will still happen on May 20, 2021 as agreed and indicated they will make use of the remaining days to reach on to the heads of federal states and bring them together so that every one is on board.
