Puntland’s President Deni Fosters Unity with Post-Election Luncheon for Former Competitors

Garowe, Puntland – Following his successful re-election, President Said Abdullahi Deni took a significant step towards fostering unity by hosting a luncheon at the Presidential Palace. This gathering brought together candidates who contested top positions in the Puntland Regional Government, emphasizing collaboration and shared responsibility.

The event, attended by prominent figures including the new Vice President, Mr. Ilyas Osman Lugatoor, and the Speaker of the Puntland House of Representatives, aimed to symbolize a commitment to unity despite the competitive nature of the recent election.

President Deni’s proactive approach was evident as he welcomed former Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Huruse and Awad, who contested against him, along with Asad Diyano, the candidate he won against the 2019 election.

The luncheon served as a symbolic gesture, highlighting the importance of collaboration within Puntland’s political landscape. Discussions also turned towards the anticipated formal ceremony in Garowe, where President Said Abdullahi Deni is expected to be officially crowned.

President Deni’s initiative to bring together diverse political figures resonates with a message of inclusivity, collaboration, and shared responsibility for Puntland’s journey ahead that he echoed in his victory speech.
