On Thursday, the Puntland Regional State issued a warning forecasting rains with strong winds. The Ministry of Relief and Disaster Management of the Puntland regional government has sent a warning to the residents of the city of Las-Qoray in the Sanaag region where it rained in the last few hours.
A press release issued by the ministry indicated that the residents living in Las-Qoray and it’s outskirts are required to be extra vigilant and be careful in order to avoid the damage that might be caused by the rain.
“We urge the residents of Las-Qoray District and it’s outskirts to stay away from the beaches and lowlying areas,” said a statement from the Ministry of Relief and Disaster Management of the Puntland regional government.
The warning issued by Puntland comes at a time when it has been raining heavily in the last few hours in the city of Las-Qoray, which the residents said caused a lot of damage.
Puntland State urge residents to take the necessary precautionary measures to mitigate risks associated with the strong winds and expected heavy rains.
