President of Somalia’s North East State, Abdulkadir Ahmed Aw Ali Firdhiye, has appointed an 11-member committee tasked with overseeing the construction and development of Las Anod Airport, the administrative capital of the state.
President Firdhiye selected the committee members from among ministers and members of the North East State House of Representatives and urged them to diligently carry out the responsibilities assigned to them.
The committee is chaired by Minister Ahmed Abdi Shire and includes the following members:

The North East State administration has placed strong emphasis on developing Las Anod Airport into a modern facility.
The newly appointed committee is expected to begin work on accelerating the project and coordinating efforts to ensure the airport’s development progresses efficiently.
The appointment comes as the North East State intensifies its efforts to advance infrastructure and services in the region.
With the committee now tasked to push the Las Anod Airport project forward, the state said it aims to strengthen connectivity, improve economic opportunities, and support the broader development of the entire area.
