In Mogadishu, there are special meetings and talks ahead of the conference on elections by the federal government officials , State governments and the State of Banadir as they wait to be joined by president’s Hir-Shabeelle and Puntland regions who are not in the capital.
Interim Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Rooble met with Galmudug regional Presidents Ahmed Abdi Kaariye Qoor-Qoor , Jubbaland’s Ahmed Mohamed Islam, South West president Abdiaziz Hassan Mohamed Lafta Gareen and Banadir Governor Omar Mohamud Finish.
Rooble spoke to the parties ahead of the Conference that he took over its responsibilities and leadership on May 1, 2021 so that dialogue and guidance in parliamentary and presidential elections can be discussed amicably among the leaders.
The conference, which was set to open on May 20, 2021, was delayed after Presidents of Hir-Shabeelle and Puntland state failed to arrive in the capital by the scheduled time of the Conference.
Sources told Mustaqbal that the two leaders are set to arrive in Mogadishu on Friday. Ali Guudlaawe Hussein President of Hir-Shabeelle was dealing with flood situation and fighting between government forces and rebel group in his capital’s administration and Said Abdullahi Deni President of Puntland was out of the country.
Somali government spokesman Mohamed Ibrahim Maalim said the Office of Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Rooble has prepared the reception of the leaders in the pursuit of the talks and meetings as well as any other necessary arrangements.
