Hir-Shabeelle Police conducted a multi-hour operation in the Jowhar district of the central Shabelle district, the State’s Capital.
Local sources told Mustaqbal that security forces conducted searches in some of the homes and rounded up suspects who allegedly participated in Wednesday’s clashes between security agencies and a rebels group.
Security officials who led the operations have instructed their officers to hand over individuals with illegal weapons in the city of Jowhar so that there will be no conflict again to end such casualties.
The group known among locals as Macawuusley engaged the war with the security forces so that they secure the release of one of their own who has been arrested.
Some of President Hussein Ali’s bodyguards and his Presidential staff members were killed and injured in the clashes in Jowhar on May 19, 2021.
