PM Hamza: Government land allocation is legal, Citizens can seek justice through Courts.

Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, Hamza Abdi Barre, has defended the government’s process of allocating public land, stressing that it is conducted in accordance with the law.

Speaking on the matter, the Prime Minister noted that previous Somali administrations had also distributed government land, but he emphasized that no private property with valid ownership documents can be infringed upon. He added that any citizen who claims to have been wrongfully deprived of their land has the right to seek redress before the competent courts.

“No Somali can have their legally owned land taken away. If such a violation occurs, there are courts where the case can be filed, and those responsible will be held accountable,” said PM Hamza.

When asked why the government had not announced the allocation of its land through state media, the Prime Minister responded: “All government land has always been distributed to the Somali people; it was never advertised. If anyone feels wronged, they have legal avenues through the courts.”

Addressing concerns from citizens who argue that their land was seized, Hamza urged them to pursue the matter through the judiciary. He insisted that if such claims are genuine and properly filed in court, they will be addressed accordingly.

The Prime Minister’s remarks come amid growing public complaints regarding government land distribution, which has sparked debate among Somali citizens.
