The governor of Benadir region and the mayor of Mogadishu Omar Mohamud Mohamed (Omar Filish) today unveiled a major road that was under repair. The road near the milk factory in Hodan district was key as it connected several main roads within the capital .
Road which had extreme potholes had greatly impacted t on the movement of the people and had been repaired in response to public complaints.
The mayor of Mogadishu urged the community to work to preserve the construction of this tarmac road and to work on its beauty and cleanliness.
The Benadir Regional Administration led by Governor Omar Mohamud Mohamed (Omar Filish) has already implemented a number of projects to rebuild tarmac roads in Mogadishu to make it easier for the public to move and infrastructure to be restored.
Last months concerns were raised by the public that there is a lot of congestion on the main roads in Mogadishu, which is a problem for motorists and various sections of the community, and it is sometimes difficult to get on the road due to the congestion.
Police said at the time that they plan to address congested Mogadishu streets.
Abdi Hassan Mohamed Hijar, the Commander of the Federal Government Police Force, on Saturday inspected the rehabilitated Road Safety Command Headquarters.
Commander Hijar who spoke to the media at the headquarters of the security forces said that the main roads in Mogadishu are congested and various problems need to be addressed.
He said that the police are having difficulty in controlling the congestion caused by various traffic in the road and are working on an elaborate plan to address the mess
The plan is part of the development and reconstruction of the capital Mogadishu.
