Landmine Blast in Somali Capital Leaves Two Dead, Emergency Crews Respond.

An explosion occurred on Saturday morning in the Kaaraan District of Somalia’s Banaadir region, resulting in at least two deaths and multiple injuries. Local sources have reported that the explosion, suspected to have been caused by a landmine, took place near a restaurant in the Jamhuuriya neighborhood.

Following the incident, emergency response teams promptly arrived at the scene to transport the injured to medical facilities. Somali security forces, including members of the police, intelligence, and specialized paramilitary units, arrived shortly afterward to secure the area and initiate an investigation.

This incident highlights ongoing security challenges in the region, with authorities working to address such threats and enhance safety measures for residents.There’s no official statement by the government yet.
