KCPD confirm that the suspect in a Friday night double-homicide was killed in an officer involved shooting near Missouri Avenue and Maple Boulevard.
The deceased suspect has been identified as Hanad Abdiaziz of Kansas City, Missouri. Abdiaziz was the suspect in a shooting that left two teenagers dead near 8th Street and Olive Street late Friday night.
According to MSHP, KCPD officers made contact with a male homicide suspect who presented a short barreled rifle. Gunfire was exchanged and one police officer did fire a weapon.
As a result, the male suspect was struck. Life-saving measures were performed immediately. The suspect was taken to Truman Medical Center where died from his injuries.
KCPD said this is an ongoing part of the investigation of the double-homicide that happened on 8th Street and Olive Street late Friday night.
The investigation led them to the location in search of the suspect.
Details are still coming in and FOX4 will update when they become available. Traffic is closed in the area.
No officers were injured in the shooting.
