President Ali Abdullahi Hussein (Ali Guudlawe) of the Hirshabelle Regional Government has announced plans to launch a major operation against Al-Shabaab (AS) in the western part of the Hiran region. This move comes as part of ongoing efforts to stabilize and secure the area.
In a series of meetings with the community and local administration officials in the Jalalaqsi district, President Guudlawe outlined the objectives of the upcoming operation and discussed the need for coordinated efforts between the Hirshabelle administration and the Federal Government.
“The community living in Hirshabelle needs to be prepared to liberate the west. Both the federal government and the regional administration are doing their utmost to ensure the success of this operation. Our strength lies in our unity, and we must work together to reclaim the west,” Guudlawe emphasized.
The announcement is part of President Guudlawe’s broader strategy to bolster security in the region, particularly in areas recently freed from Al-Shabaab’s control where he launched projects and visited last week.
His visits to various districts have focused on assessing the situation and rallying support for the planned offensive.
The upcoming operation aims to further weaken Al-Shabaab’s presence and improve stability in the Hiran region, reflecting a strong commitment to enhancing security and governance in the area.
