Fresh clashes erupts in Lasanood after Weeks of Calm

Fresh fighting broke out last night  in Lasacanood town in the capital of Sool Region between Somaliland forces and the local SSC forces resulting to casualties and injuries according to reports from credible sources.

The fierce battle came after the Somaliland forces, which are operating in three directions, attacked the SSC forces according to reports.

There are death and injuries on both sides but the official number of casualties on both sides has not yet been confirmed, witnesses said that heavy weapons were being used by both sides.

Officials who spoke for SSC forces claimed victory over Somaliland forces though no official reports released by Somaliland forces from their end.

The latest reports this morning says the situation in the town is calm despite fear of the clash anytime between the two forces.

Efforts to end the conflict in Las-Aanod City have failed several times, with each side demanding the withdrawal of its forces from the Sool region.
