Fahad Yassin Haji Dahir, the director of Somalia’s National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA), has appointed a new chief of staff.
Abbas Yaqub’s appointment comes after Prime Minister Roble fired Abdullahi Kulane, NISA’s chief of staff, and Aden Adde International Airport’s security chief, who were accused of violating Roble’s order of not blocking politicians who are travelling to their constituencies.
Abbas was one of NISA’s top executives in charge of administration, finance and technology, and is likely to become NISA’s acting director when Fahad Yassin is believed to be seeking a seat in parliament.
