European Union and UNDP hand over 13 vehicles to the Somaliland justice department ahead of elections.

EU Ambassador to Somalia Nicolas Berlanga has handed over 13 vehicles to the Somaliland Justice Department and the Election Commission.

These vehicles (TOYOTA Hilux make ), are meant for the Police, Justice department and Ministry of Affairs. The hand over ceremony was attended by deputy Minister of the internal affairs , Director General of the Ministry, EU Representative for Somalia and officials from the UNDP.

Deputy Minister of Interior Abdulahir Aideed Mohamed, who spoke at the event, thanked UNDP, EU and other international community partners for the noble gesture as these vehicle will go along way in facilitating administrative works and in service delivery.

The EU Representative to Somalia and the head of the UNSOM Office in Somaliland have indicated that they will continue to work in Somaliland, particularly cooperation in the Commonwealth Law together with Somaliland, the European Union and the United Nations.

“13 vehicles handed over to Police and Justice institutions this morning. Their immediate task is to support the electoral process with the electoral commission in the lead.   This effort is part of the Rule of Law project implemented by UNDP.” said Mr Nicholas Berlanga.
