The President of the Arab republic of Egypt Abdifatah Al-Sisi will travel to the republic of Djibouti on Thursday 27 May 2021 at the invitation of his counterpart president Ismail Omar Guelleh.
Media reports on Al-Sisi’s visit to Djibouti say the two presidents will discuss strengthening ties, political activities in Africa and the situation in the Horn of Africa.
The Egyptian presidency said in April 2021 that telephone talks between Al-Sisi and Guelleh had discussed the dispute over the construction of the Ethiopian dam. Ethiopia enjoys good relations with the Republic of Djibouti.
President Abdifatah, who did not attend the inauguration of his Djiboutian counterpart Ismail Omar Guelleh, specifically congratulated him on his election victory through a statement sent to the media .
