Eastleigh Killings: Fresh Details Emerge After Detectives Probe Woman Abducted Alongside 3 Victims

Homicide detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have made progress in probing the murders of three Eastleigh family members who were killed in cold blood three days ago.

In the investigations conducted on Thursday, October 24, detectives managed to recover a vehicle which the DCI officers believe was used by the perpetrators to abduct and kill the trio.

The vehicle was reportedly found dumped by the assailants within the Wakulima market in Nairobi. The officers also managed to trace a woman who was in the company of the three during the abduction.

While being grilled by the detectives at the DCI Headquarters in Kiambu County, the woman of Somali origin affirmed that she was indeed abducted alongside the trio and that she was placed in the same room where the three were locked before their subsequent deaths.

During the grilling session, the woman disclosed that the abductors demanded close to Ksh1 million to set them free. However, her family managed to raise the money and went ahead to deposit the funds in an Ethiopian bank account.

A probe into the victims’ phones revealed that on the night of the abduction, their phones were pinged in Eastleigh for a short time before they proceeded to General Waruingi which is located within Nairobi. One of the phones was later switched off within the Pangani area.

Detectives believed that the same assailants who dumped the body of one of the victims in Pangani proceeded to Bahati and Parklands estates where the same perpetrators also dumped the bodies of the other family members.

Reports by the DCI officers further revealed that during the night, the suspects stopped along the way to fuel their vehicle with police officers probing the CCTV and payment details.

The trio reportedly disappeared on Monday, October 21 before their bodies were found lying along roads in Parklands, Bahati and Machakos bearing similar injuries.

According to the family members, the two girls left home on Monday evening at around 9 pm in search of their mother who had gone to the hospital which is located within the Eastleigh estate for skin treatment.

“Our aunt told us that she wanted to go out for a skin check and when he left home, it was around 8 am but she failed to return until 1 pm when her daughters decided to go and search for her. It was the last time we saw her and her two daughters,” noted the victims’ family member.

“In the morning, we were informed that a body had been recovered at Parklands that is when we decided to come and check if it was one of the daughters. They have been killed and their bodies mutilated and thrown in different locations,” the trio’s kin narrated.
