Deputy Chief of Police at Banadir succumb to the suicide attack injuries.

Deputy Chief of Police in Banadir Province, Lieutenant Colonel Ahmed Abdi Wehliye, died of a serious injury sustained from a recent attack on the Waaberi District Police Station in Banadir.

Commander Ahmed Wehliye has been nursing wounds with his medical condition attended to in recent days at Digfeer Hospital in Mogadishu but on Saturday it was confirmed that the deputy commander had died from his injuries.

The death of Ahmed Abdi Wehliye was condoled by the Federal Police Command, Minister of Interior Minister General Mukhtar Hussein Arfah and other officials.

The suicide bomber who attacked the Waberi Police Station killed high rank police officers including District Police Commander Ahmed Abdullahi Bashane, Deputy Commander of the Division, Weliyow Ade , police officers and civilians.

Al-Shabaab claimed responsibility for the suicide bombing dusk attack in Mogadishu saying it had targeted military officials at the State Police Station.
