The Directorate of Criminal Investigations announced this morning that the Kenyan security forces have detained the main suspects behind the kidnapping and torture of a Nairobi-based Somali businesswoman Hafsa Mohamed Lukman on June 15 during a crackdown this morning.

Hafsa Abdi a 21 year old Somali lady and her lover Jackson Njogu were picked by DCI and Crime Research & Intelligence Bureau, backed up by their Special Service Unit counterparts, as they slept at Crystal view lodge in the chilly Kinangop area. The two lovers who masterminded the kidnapping of Hafsa from her shop,managed to siphon a total of Sh650,000 from the victim’s bank accounts in the period she was in captivity.
They then escaped to Kinangop and purchased a bar, which they were operating. Hafsa was found by detectives last Sunday, at a dingy room in Matopeni area in Kayole,after her abductors kidnapped upon learning that they were being traced by police.
The kidnappers demanded a ransom of five million from the family of Hafsa Lukman in a video sent to her family in which distraught Hafsa asked for the money with bruises on her face from beatings by her kidnappers.
“This morning was not their lucky day though. They were smoked out of room number 8 at Crystal view lodge, where they had imagined that our hawk-eyed detectives would never find them.” the statement read in part
