Commander Abdi Sulnug of Somali National Army’s Gorgor Forces Dies in Battle Against Al-Shabaab

In the central region of Somalia as Commander Abdi Sulnug, leading the 18th battalion of the Somali National Army’s elite Gorgor forces, succumbed to injuries sustained during heavy clashes with Al-Shabaab militants near Caad village in Galmudug State on Saturday.

The Turkish-trained elite Gorgor forces have been actively involved in combating Al-Shabaab., Commander Sulnug had been wounded in the line of duty and, lost his life during the recent fierce confrontation with Al-Shabaab near Amara town.

The intense clashes in the Caad area, Mudug region, reflect the ongoing security operations in Somalia as government forces continue their battle against group Al-Shabaab.
