Banadir Police Chief warns against Public incitement, announces arrests.

The Commander of the Banadir Regional Police, Brigadier General Mahdi Omar Muumin, widely known as Macallin Mahdi, has warned that any individual involved in inciting the public or engaging in actions that threaten stability will face arrest and prosecution.

Speaking on the matter, Brig. Gen. Mahdi stated that Somalia’s Federal Government security agencies are “actively monitoring and pursuing individuals who habitually incite divisions within society or provoke unrest” . He emphasized that suspects will be apprehended and brought before court even if they are operating from outside the country.

In line with this directive, the Banadir Regional Police confirmed that several well-known social media personalities have been arrested in recent hours on allegations of inciting the public and undermining security.

Those detained include Mahad Mahmoud Xamarow, popularly known as Garyaqaan, and Yusuf Hassan Ali, also known as Yuu Boss. The two were arrested and are currently being held at the Hodan District Police Station in the Banadir region.

Police authorities reiterated their commitment to maintaining public order and safeguarding security, warning that no tolerance will be shown toward acts deemed harmful to social cohesion and national stability.
