According to close confidant reports a tragic road accident occurred yesterday on the route between Mogadishu and Balcad, particularly in the Darmooley area. The crash resulted in both deaths and injuries.
According to eyewitnesses, the accident happened after a collision between a passenger vehicle Toyota and a Bajaj motorcycle.
So far, four people have been reported dead on the spot while five others were injured. The injured were taken to hospitals in Mogadishu for further medical attention.
In recent days, traffic-related incidents have reportedly increased along the Mogadishu Balcad highway, a stretch that recently underwent reconstruction.
Incidents of this nature have been on the rise in Mogadishu, with speeding frequently cited as the main causes. Authorities continue to call for stricter enforcement of traffic regulations to curb the growing number of accidents on the roads.
