South West State President Adan Mohamed Nur Madobe has returned to Baidoa and begun meetings with federal and South West State security officials to discuss the city’s security situation.
The meetings come as the South West administration recently warned that it would take strong preventive measures against forces loyal to the former administration of Abdiaziz Laftagareen and Al-Shabaab, which it says pose a security threat to Baidoa.
Amid growing security pressure in the city, Madobe is expected to announce measures aimed at strengthening security and preventing further instability following the meetings.
In recent days, Baidoa has witnessed renewed clashes and tense security incidents, underscoring the fragility of the situation on the ground.
The fighting has heightened fear among residents, disrupted daily life, and strained local security forces as competing groups and armed elements reportedly traded positions around key areas although security was maintained after clashes
